Meet Shirley

The CVTC connection goes far beyond hiring graduates.

Exploring a CVTC Business Partnership

A four-year degree does not necessarily make you a better employee, according to PMI LLC and its Human Resource Manager, Shirley Gutsch.

To Shirley, there's no reason not to get your education from a technical college. She feels CVTC's smaller classrooms, hands-on training, and more affordable cost set people up for success in their career.

Producing fabricated metal, ranging from small parts to large components, their workforce currently includes many CVTC graduates as well as three on-site student welders. PMI is continually looking for current students to develop a healthy workforce.

They believe CVTC students have a desire to learn, a drive to be better than they are, and an ability to make learning opportunities fit into their careers now and in the future.

The CVTC connection goes far beyond hiring graduates for this company, though. They have partnered with the College to advance their employees as well. From employees with no industry work experience to upper management leadership and supervisory programs, CVTC has provided customized training to meet all of their needs.

Employers partnering with CVTC become stronger, and PMI has found that CVTC produces great graduates, and helps continue to train their workforce into the future!
