Move to Remote Classes and Services - Jan. 21

Due to inclement weather conditions, all CVTC classes and services will be virtual on Tuesday, January 21. All CVTC campus buildings, including the dental clinic, salon, and restaurant, will be closed.

Remote Classes and Services (policy)
All in-person and in-person My Choice classes are canceled, and in-person services are not available. Online (including My Choice online) classes and college services are available remotely (see Procedures).

Remote Classes and Services (procedure)
Communications will contain information if classes and campus are subject to remote classes and services. All campus events are canceled, and facilities and venues are closed. A decision for remote classes and services will normally be made by 5:00 AM of the impacted day.

CVTC Campus Closure Procedure

1. Classes
   1. All in-person (including My Choice in-person option) classes, if at all possible, will switch to remote. If it is not 
      possible to switch to remote instruction, in-person classes will be canceled at the discretion of the instructor in collaboration with their academic dean.
   2. All online (asynchronous) classes will be held as normal, and no classes or exams will be delayed or canceled due to remote classes and services.
   3. In the event of remote classes and services during the final examination period, the Provost will provide a directive regarding exams.
2. Employees
   1. Critical and essential services employees should remain or report to their duty locations.
   2. All other employees should switch to remote work. If an employee has circumstances that would prevent them from working remotely, see Employee Handbook for details on leave options.
   3. It is expected for employees to work remotely if work can be done remotely to ensure the continuity of remote services. All in-person meetings should be switched to virtual if possible or canceled if not possible in a virtual modality. Employees, students, and visitors should contact their instructor, supervisor, or event venue with specific concerns.

Winter Break: College Closed

CVTC is closed, and employees will be off Monday, December 23 - Wednesday, January 1, for winter break. Unfortunately, we may not be able to follow up with your inquiry until we return on Thursday, January 2.
