Meet Brian
After 16 years in the Navy, he was unsure about returning to the classroom.
The instructors were very accommodating and I never felt out of place.
At 52 years old, Brian had completed many missions in his life. However, even with all his success, he wasn’t sure he could handle the challenge of returning to a classroom setting.
Immediately after graduating high school, Brian joined the Navy and served for 16 years as a weapons specialist, a crewman in a sub-hunting aircraft, and an interrogator. He wanted to earn his degree while he was serving, but was unable due to deployment.
After retiring from the military, he worked in the family business, but had always dreamed of helping fellow veterans. He decided to go back to school and enrolled in CVTC’s Business Management program. He took a full class load in addition to working full time and says the instructors were very accommodating, and he never felt out of place.
Brian now serves as a local veterans’ employment representative for the State of Wisconsin and works daily to match veterans with local jobs. He says his military background, paired with the tools he learned in his business classes, help him succeed.
Brian recommends CVTC because they offer a dedicated onsite rep exclusively available for veterans to ensure success. He says military members know what perseverance means, and achieving at school and in business is just a matter of persevering.
