Meet Kelsey
Kelsey wanted a career where she could help people.
I’m hoping to make a big difference in the community.
Kelsey started her college career studying Marketing at a four-year college. But her main passion is to help people and she felt she could better help people as a nurse.
She enrolled at CVTC and coming from a small town, the small class sizes felt like a better fit. Her instructors worked in the field which was important to her, and gave the latest, most up-to-date information.
The learning resources center for the nursing program helped her practice her skills and feel confident going into clinical.
She completed the BSN at Home program and went on to a Doctorate of Nursing Practice. It was a smooth transition with her CVTC credits easily transferring into a four-year college nursing program.
Kelsey has three young children and wanted a job close to her family. She is now a family nurse practitioner at Prevea Health in Cornell, Wisconsin.
Treating patients from infancy to over 100 years of age, she feels it is important having someone local to offer care. All the full-time staff at her clinic are CVTC graduates and she enjoys working with fellow CVTC grads.
Kelsey says CVTC was rooting for her to succeed so that she could have the life she envisioned. They gave her the skills, knowledge, and confidence she needed to accomplish her end goal of treating and helping people.
