Meet Erika
Erika was searching for the right fit for her future.
Finding Her Path
High school does not always offer a positive experience for everyone. Erika did not enjoy school and graduated after her junior year, wanting to move on but not knowing what she wanted to come next. She feared the college environment would be like high school and was apprehensive about trying again.
Erika initially planned on pursuing pre-med but decided that wasn't the direction she wanted for herself. She was looking for a transition school to help setup her future as she figured out what it should look like. She decided to enroll in the Liberal Arts program at CVTC to take her general classes and move forward.
The CVTC environment, students, and instructors put her at ease. She felt comfortable at CVTC, unlike high school. She got to know her classmates and now considers them friends. Her instructors were helpful and re-sparked her passion for learning.
Now the Auction Coordinator at Pro Country Auction Service, she handles various duties for the company, including website maintenance, advertising, on-site setup, and financials. Erika's CVTC program experience comes in handy professionally when communicating with customers, some of whom are processing heirlooms or valued items of loved ones. She uses her skills to help them through the process.
She is currently working on a bachelor's degree in Healthcare Management. She is thankful that almost 50% of her credits transferred to her online university, saving her a substantial amount of time and tuition costs.
She feels accomplished and proud of earning her degree. Even though she started out not knowing what she wanted, she was committed to learning and finding her way. For Erika, CVTC paved the way for future success.
