Child Care Services Overview
CVTC’s Child Care Services program allows you to complete your education in one year and begin a child care career. Earning a technical diploma in child care services prepares you for working with young children. Child care providers play an important role in child development by attending to children’s needs and organizing activities that stimulate physical, emotional, intellectual and social growth.
In the child care classes you will learn how to help children explore their interests, develop their talents and independence, build self-esteem, and interact with others. Your education will also include learning how to plan and implement learning activities, work cooperatively with parents, and create a safe environment for young children.
*Please note: This program includes two in-person practicums, each eight hours/week.
