At the Applied Technology Center at the Gateway Campus, CVTC offers a helping hand to business start-ups and access to high technology for new and existing businesses. With 38,000 square feet of flexible business incubation space, the center is designed to accommodate the development of business for microfabrication and advanced manufacturing technologies. The Applied Technology Center features advanced wet lab space, and access to various equipment, including an atomic force microscope, a scanning electron microscope, and micro-machining technologies. Through the Equipment Access Program, CVTC offers Applied Technology Center equipment to businesses for product development and concept testing.
Adjoining CVTC’s Manufacturing Education Center, the Applied Technology Center is also home to CVTC's Mechatronics Specialist program, which features a simulated manufacturing center that allows students to troubleshoot problems.
Regional DataCenter
In 2012, CVTC, UW-Eau Claire, and WiscNet recognized similar problems in housing their growing infrastructure footprint. Leveraging the purpose-built space at CVTC's Applied Technology Center, the three organizations partnered to create the Regional DataCenter and opened it to other partners.
