CVTC named Military Friendly School by national org
Chippewa Valley Technical College offers free services to veterans during Give Vets a Smile event each year.
Chippewa Valley Technical College (CVTC) has been named a 2024-2025 Military Friendly® School by the Military Friendly® organization.
Military Friendly® is the standard that measures an organization’s commitment, effort and success in creating sustainable and meaningful benefits for the military community.
CVTC offers many benefits by federal and state governments that the College’s military-connected students utilize, said Justin Boudreau, CVTC veteran advisor and SCO.
“Besides a dedicated advisor to help guide our students through their educational path, we also offer service member priority registration, Veterans Day activities, student meet ups, and a special service member graduation designation,” Boudreau said.
The Military Friendly® School designation establishes baseline expectations in key areas to earn the recognition. Organizations that go above and beyond the baseline expectations can earn higher levels. This is the second year the College has been awarded Silver status for this designation.
“This honor underscores our commitment to providing top-notch education and support to our military community,” said CVTC President Sunem Beaton-Garcia. “At CVTC, we recognize the invaluable contributions and sacrifices of our service members, veterans and their families. We remain dedicated to offering resources, flexibility and opportunities they need to succeed in their academic and professional endeavors.”
The survey to be considered for the designation includes more than 100 questions in 10 categories including support on campus, graduation rates, employment rates and more. CVTC previously has been awarded the designation 10 times since 2010.
