CVTC colleague elected as ACBSP commissioner
After eight years working in several capacities for the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs, Chippewa Valley Technical College Title III Grant Project Director, Lisa Arendt, has been chosen to serve on the Associate Degree Board of Commissioners for a three-year term that began July 2.
As a commissioner, Arendt will review comprehensive reports from the site visits of other two-year college business schools and programs.
“I am looking forward to being a part of the Board and having a larger impact on the accreditation process for associate degree programs,” Arendt said. “It’s all about quality improvement. I’m looking for growth opportunities and improved processes.”
Previously, Arendt participated in the Accreditation Council as the chair for two site visits per year evaluating various schools throughout the country. As an evaluator, Arendt was the “boots on the ground” at campuses validating the schools’ self-studies.
CVTC business programs also are evaluated through the Accreditation Council. Arendt said being on both sides of the process is helpful.
“We want to continue to improve and learn best practices from all colleges,” she said of CVTC. “We’ve brought best practices back to our college. To have a commissioner here says a lot for the work we do and how important quality is.”
