Electric Vehicles Showcased During Local Event
The public was invited to attend the second EV Experience, an electric vehicle event, hosted by Chippewa Valley Technical College.
The public was invited to see, touch and drive a variety of electric vehicles during the second EV Experience -- an electric vehicle event on September 25.
Dozens of electric vehicles are on the market now, and major manufacturers including Ford and General Motors have new models coming out soon.
“Our members count on us to be their trusted energy advisors on home energy efficiency and conservation, now we’re fielding a lot of questions about electric vehicles," said Lynn Thompson, CEO of Eau Claire Energy Cooperative. "It’s an exciting time and this event will bring even more information to the community.”
Jukka Kukkonen was the keynote speaker during the event. Kukkonen is the founder of Shift2Electric, a Minnesota-based electric vehicle market and technology consulting firm. He also teaches EV Markets and Technology at the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota.
Participants were able to test drive models from Tesla, Ford, Chevrolet, Volkswagen, Nissan and others. Informational display booths featured cooperatives, the new co-op charging network called CHARGE, area auto dealers, the City of Eau Claire, and more.
