Regulatory
Department of Transportation (DOT) Hazardous Materials Safety TrainingIf your employees are involved in the preparation, shipment, or receipt of hazardous materials, this training must be delivered annually. Our trainers can customize the content to your facility, or the training can be completed in one of our classrooms. Identification of hazardous materials, shipping papers, packaging, and emergency response considerations are just some of the components included in this training.
Emergency Response Plan DevelopmentIn today's work environment, safety professionals are thinking beyond severe weather, chemical spills, and fire drills. While these components of emergency planning are crucial, more must be in place to protect your employees from workplace violence. Our safety experts can assist your organization in assessing and developing scaled response, tactical planning, and training program elements to meet your needs. We can also assist with drill development (both table-top scenarios and practical hands-on), drill debriefing, and recommendations for improvement.
Employee & Management Safety TrainingDevelop and deliver regulatory training for your workforce that will meet your needs. Our training is interactive, informative, and performance based. We'll develop skill tests or knowledge-based measurements you can use to document the students' knowledge and use of the material beyond the classroom. Our clients appreciate the hands-on approach that our trainers use, along with scenario-based exercises and critical skills demonstration.
Fall Protection Competent PersonThis 24-hour course permits the attendee to oversee the immediate supervision, implementation, and monitoring of a managed fall protection program. Further, this course focuses on the requirements set forth by OSHA Regulations and ANSI Z359.2. This course includes a complement of in-class instruction, hands-on application, and a written examination. At completion, the attendee will receive a certificate stating that they have completed the training required by OSHA and ANSI for a Competent Person and Competent Inspector.
Independent Safety Analyses of Manufacturing Processes, Equipment or ProceduresGain a detailed evaluation of all or part of a manufacturing process where critical points of contact may occur. Emphasis is placed on the employee/machine interface with recommendations made to reduce or eliminate exposure to hazards.
Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) Part 46 TrainingMSHA training is required for new surface or underground miners. Our course content is approved by MSHA and is supplemented by additional materials for students after their training is completed. New-surface training (24 hours) and annual refreshers (8 hours) can be conducted at one of our campuses or delivered at a site you select. Upon completion of the MSHA courses, each participant will receive an official completion certificate (required to gain entry to mine sites) from MSHA that is valid for one year.
Mock OSHA InspectionWe'll conduct a mock OSHA inspection of operations and provide an assessment along with recommendations for correcting hazards. Our walk through will identify the primary risks to assess the potential for accidents and near-misses. A review of the facility's record-keeping requirements is included (injury records, safety policies, inspections, and related documents).
OSHA 10 and 30 Hour - Training for Both General Industry and Construction RegulationsWe follow the OSHA-mandated course agendas and learning exercises when presenting these content-rich training sessions. Through the National Safety Education Center's partnership, we will ensure that attendees receive the latest information and supplemental materials to receive their training certificates. Pre- and post-tests on content are included, according to OSHA specifications.
Personal Protective Equipment AssessmentsEnsuring your employees' personal protective equipment is adequate goes beyond purchasing. The work environment is studied to assure the equipment is going to be effective at reducing the likelihood of injury or illness. OSHA requires that this assessment is certified annually. Ensure you comply by having CVTC conduct a thorough assessment.
Written Safety Policy and Procedure DevelopmentEnsure your existing safety policies and procedure statements meet the intent of today's regulatory requirements with this training. We'll examine your documentation and challenge its integration by conducting interviews and workplace inspections. The findings will be used to tailor your documents, ensuring that you are meeting the requirements.
Train-the-Trainer
Powered Industrial VehiclesOur train the trainer courses can be delivered at your site or at one of our campuses. Forklift, pallet jack, scissors lift, or boom lift courses are available to equip your employees with the proper safety mind-set and on-the-job performance requirements. OSHA sets forth many of these training expectations in the General Industry Safety Standards found in 29CFR 1910, and our training is designed to meet them. Upon completion of both classroom and hands-on exercises, you'll be certified to teach and evaluate your employees' use of your equipment.
Lockout/TagoutLockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements should not be so complicated that they are difficult to implement, and we'll help get your program where it needs to be (in compliance with 29CFR 1910.147). Comprehensive and effective employee training is essential in developing a practical program. We can complete or revise your written policy, conduct equipment inventories, write individual LOTO procedures, conduct training for authorized and affected employees, and perform annual LOTO audits.
Developing Technical TrainersThe workplace of today and tomorrow requires well-trained employees working in a collaborative environment. The person tasked with ensuring a workforce is adequately trained needs both content knowledge and the skills and techniques to ensure the audience meets a variety of legal and business needs. Attendees will learn to differentiate between 'trained' and 'competent', develop technical training sessions that meet both business and student needs, apply best practices to conduct a training needs analysis and to prioritize technical content, create interactive technical training based on applying knowledge and skill, and implement practical solutions for technical training challenges.
Coaching the Experienced OperatorPowered Industrial Vehicle operators are required by OSHA to be recertified every three years, or before, if retraining is revealed by a complaint, accident, near-miss situation, or evaluation. This training session includes classroom and hands-on training in order for operators to be to become recertified and competent to operate the equipment.
Coaching the New OperatorYou need well-trained, competent equipment operators however, finding the time to devote to their development can be challenging. Our training courses, which can be provided at your facility or at our campuses, include both introductory classroom sessions and driving time to develop the real-world safe behaviors you need. Driving courses and practical examinations are included to assure the students' satisfactory completion of this vital component of their job.
Customized Safety Programs
Accident Analysis and Corrective Action PlanningAccident and injury records are a vital part of your safety programs and record keeping. A complete examination of the OSHA recordable injuries/illnesses will be performed to analyze the OSHA logs and summary reports for trends. We'll determine the accuracy of incident rates and assess first aid and other medical data in order to provide recommendations to reduce the frequency and severity of losses.
Develop Training SystemsGet help setting up employee training systems, including creating training kits and tracking methods for measuring employee performance. We'll outline the training programs you're looking for, customizing them to your operations and equipment. An annual training calendar with assigned monthly topics is included, and we'll prepare your monthly training kits for you with everything you'll need!
Safety Policies, Practices and ProceduresDesign specific written safety programs to meet regulatory compliance. This may involve revising and updating your existing policies and procedures, or creating new programs to fit into an overall safety manual. Site Safety AssessmentsWe'll conduct an on-site safety assessment using an analytical scoring tool to evaluate the integration of safety into your operations. Regulatory compliance is vital but isn't the only challenge facing your safety efforts. Risk management and cost control are important parts of the ten components included in the assessment. A written report with recommendations is provided that will detail each component's contribution to the success or challenges facing your organization.
Site-Specific Regulatory Training TopicsThere are many regulations and many training topics for which your employees need training. Finding the expertise to provide this training can be a challenge too. We have the professional trainers to develop materials and sessions that will meet your compliance requirements, and provide effective, useful, and memorable content. OSHA, DOT, MSHA, and related state requirements can be tailored to fit your requirements. We can conduct your training at your site, or why not use one of our convenient campus locations.
