531-312EMT 12Corequisite: 531-313Provides the foundational knowledge for future Emergency Medical Technicians and Emergency Medical Responders. Topics include: basic human anatomy, performing a patient assessment, traumatic injury management, airway management, and Basic Life Support cardiac resuscitation. Upon successful completion, candidates will be eligible to participate in the National Registry of EMTs Emergency Medical Responder exams for Wisconsin EMR certification.
531-313EMT 23531-312 or concurrent or P312 Test ScoreAdvances on the foundation concepts of Part 1 to include pharmacology, pathophysiology, operating an ambulance, and medication administration. Students will also complete a clinical rotation in a hospital Emergency Department. Upon successful completion, candidates will be eligible to participate in the National Registry of EMTs Emergency Medical Technician exams for Wisconsin EMT licensure.

Grade of B- required for all courses.
2.0 Minimum Program Cumulative GPA Required for Graduation
If a student does not enroll in any courses at CVTC for two or more consecutive semesters, the student will be required to reapply with Admissions. Students must abide by any changes in admission requirements and degree requirements.
