Admission Requirements

Steps for Admission

1. Submit Application for Admission located at cvtc.edu/apply
2. Pay the one-time $30 application processing fee.
3. To pursue this program, you must be a prior Chippewa Valley Technical College Surgical Technologist Technical Diploma graduate. Surgical Technologist graduates from other colleges are not eligible to apply to the CVTC Surgical Technology Advanced Placement program. CVTC Surgical Technologist graduation will be verified by CVTC when processing your application.
4. Submit a copy of your current certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
5. Submit proof of at least 800 hours of Surgical Technologist work experience within the last 5 years. Proof of work experience must show number of hours worked, dates of employment, be signed by office personnel verifying the employment, and be on company letterhead or include company logo.

Transfer Credit and/or Credit for Prior Learning  – You may be eligible for transfer credit or credit for prior learning options. Please work with your academic advisor for more information.

*Official transcripts must be submitted directly to CVTC from the educational institution by USPS mail or other recognized mail service providers in a sealed envelope or from a digital credential service (i.e, Parchment) approved by CVTC.
