Students explore the history and evolution of databases and investigate current database usage in industry. This relational model is examined and utilized as students' practice creating, populating, manipulating, and querying multi-table relational databases using the SQLite database.

Planning, organizing, writing, editing, and revising are applied through a variety of activities. Students will analyze audience and purpose, use elements of research and format documents using standard guidelines. Individuals will develop critical reading skills through analysis of various written documents.

156-119Machine Learning3156-107 and 156-108Machine learning (ML) is the study of computer algorithms that can improve automatically through experience and by the use of data. It is seen as a part of artificial intelligence. Machine learning algorithms build a model based on sample data, known as training data, in order to make predictions or decisions without being explicitly programmed to do so. In this course you will be exposed to introductory techniques of machine learning to analyze data.

156-123Data Security and Privacy3156-103Data Security and Privacy is the protection of personal data from those who should not have access to it and the ability of individuals to determine who can access their personal information. In this course you will explore the various data privacy laws and techniques to security an organizations data.

156-130Data Analyst Capstone32nd 8 weeks | (156-106 and 156-109) and 156-115 or concurrentThe Data Analytics Capstone culminates and assesses the students experience in the Information Technology – Data Specialist program. This advanced course provides further hands-on experience in business intelligence. Students will work in small groups to create a database with supporting reporting objects. Students will be required to use project management techniques during the development process.

809-198Intro to Psychology3This introductory course in psychology is a survey of the multiple aspects of human behavior. It involves a survey of the theoretical foundations of human functioning in such areas as learning, motivation, emotions, personality, deviance and pathology, physiological factors, and social influences. Additional topics include research methods, biological and environmental impacts, development, sensation and perception, consciousness, intelligence and stress. This course directs the student to an insightful understanding of the complexities of human relationships in personal, social, and vocational settings.
