This course is intended for the non-accounting major.

103-102Microsoft Office Suite2_The goal of this course is to provide an introduction to Microsoft Office Suite and how it is used in academic, personal, and business environments. The students will become familiar with the Office user interface and use it as they work with Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. Navigate the Office interface by using tabs, ribbons, and groups.

106-201Innovative Customer Service3Fall only | 106-203 or concurrentThis course enhances customer service skills by analyzing the customer service environment, evaluating communication techniques, and developing strategies for handling diverse and challenging customers. Learners incorporate AI tools to optimize customer interactions, explore AI-driven service recovery techniques, and apply advanced communication skills. Through these integrations, learners are prepared to deliver high-quality customer service in diverse professional settings.

106-202Intro to the Smart Office3Fall only | 106-203 or concurrentThis course covers job search techniques, including researching business support careers, preparing application materials, and interview skills. Learners enhance office communication, scheduling, and task management using Microsoft Outlook. Essential skills like phone communication, mail processing, records management, and basic bookkeeping are developed. Additionally, AI tools are integrated to optimize job searches and office efficiency, equipping learners with practical skills to excel in business support roles.

106-203AI Foundations for Business3Fall onlyThis course introduces learners to the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in a business support environment. Core concepts include machine learning, natural language processing, and data analytics. Learners will examine the ethical considerations surrounding AI, including bias, privacy, and transparency, while learning to apply AI responsibly in an office environment. The course also covers the language and terminology of AI, equipping students with the foundational knowledge to navigate and communicate effectively.

101-149Intro to QuickBooks2This is a computerized accounting course where the student is expected to have a basic understanding of the accounting fundamentals to be applied to the QuickBooks bookkeeping system. The learner will post transactions within the system including receipting for cash sales and sales on account as well as purchasing on account and with cash. The learner will also perform the bank reconciliations and financial statement preparation with the QuickBooks system.

102-109Business Analytics3103-170 or 103-102Students will utilize common business software to analyze datasets present in typical business management situations, translate the analysis into business recommendations that will improve business performance, and effectively create and present analysis recommendations to decision-makers.

106-135Bus Support Prof. Internship 11Spring only | 106-201 and 106-202 and 106-203 or concurrentStudents will work closely with business professionals to develop career skills. The process will encourage professionalism and provide an opportunity for development of positive work habits. This supervised internship allows students to experience a job situation related to the diploma degree program and business support careers such as receptionist and office assistant.

106-204Foundations of Bus Writing3This course develops learners into proficient communicators by building comprehensive skills in proofreading, grammar, and formatting. Learners apply these skills to analyze business documents, identifying and editing errors in grammar and word usage. By integrating AI-driven proofreading and editing tools, learners enhance their ability to critique and compose professional documents with accuracy and clarity.

106-205Adv Software Applications3Spring only | 106-203This course ingrates AI to equip learners with advanced skills in document processing, business presentations, and database management. Learners create forms, templates, and long documents, design professional presentations, and manage data efficiently. AI is used to optimize document creation, analyze presentations, and enhance data management. Through hands-on projects, learners gain the expertise needed to address professional challenges with precision and efficiency.

809-196Intro to Sociology3This course introduces students to the basic concepts of sociology, including culture, race, socialization, gender, group behavior, deviance, social stratification, and social change. Students will use the sociological perspective to analyze major social institutions, multiculturalism, and social issues affecting our selves and society. Students will participate in a variety of experiences to strengthen and demonstrate these perspectives and skills. Critical thinking skills are emphasized, and learning activities include applying sociological theory to current issues in society. The focus is on how social factors and forces influence beliefs and behaviors, both in our personal lives and at work.

106-207Applied Business Software3Fall only | 106-205This course builds on learners' existing software skills to develop the expertise needed by business support professionals for performing various office tasks. Learners apply software to complete business-related projects and scenarios, explore Google tools and their business applications, and incorporate AI to streamline processes and enhance productivity in office environments.

801-136English Composition 13This course is designed for learners to develop knowledge and skills in all aspects of the writing process. Planning, organizing, writing, editing, and revising are applied through a variety of activities. Students will analyze audience and purpose, use elements of research and format documents using standard guidelines. Individuals will develop critical reading skills through analysis of various written documents.

809-198Intro to Psychology3This introductory course in psychology is a survey of the multiple aspects of human behavior. It involves a survey of the theoretical foundations of human functioning in such areas as learning, motivation, emotions, personality, deviance and pathology, physiological factors, and social influences. Additional topics include research methods, biological and environmental impacts, development, sensation and perception, consciousness, intelligence and stress. This course directs the student to an insightful understanding of the complexities of human relationships in personal, social, and vocational settings.

Learners explore social and business web tools, along with essential tools used to create, design, and update web pages. The course also introduces AI-powered solutions and productivity apps that enhance efficiency and effectiveness in the business support profession, allowing learners to automate tasks and apply these tools to simulated business-related scenarios common in office environments.

106-209Career Capstone Office Prof3Spring only | 106-203This final course prepares learners for careers as business support professionals. They will create an AI-enhanced employment portfolio, assess their online presence, explore job offer strategies, and develop career plans. Learners will refine technical and soft skills, set goals, and improve office skills such as budgeting, travel planning, and meeting minutes using AI tools to boost efficiency.

801-196Oral/Interpersonal Comm3Focuses on developing effective listening techniques and verbal and nonverbal communication skills through oral presentation, group activity, and other projects. The study of self, conflict, and cultural contexts will be explored, as well as their impact on communication.

804-134Mathematical Reasoning3All college students, regardless of their college major, need to be able to make reasonable decisions about fiscal, environmental, and health issues that require quantitative reasoning skills. An activity based approach is used to explore numerical relationships, graphs, proportional relationships, algebraic reasoning, and problem solving using linear, exponential and other mathematical models. Students will develop conceptual and procedural tools that support the use of key mathematical concepts in a variety of contexts. This course may be used as the first of a two part sequence that ends with Quantitative Reasoning as the capstone general education math requirement.

804-189Introductory Statistics3Students taking this course will learn to display data with graphs, describe distributions with numbers, perform correlation and regression analyses, and design experiments. They will use probability and distributions to make predictions, estimate parameters, and test hypotheses. They will learn to draw inferences about relationships including ANOVA.
