Business Management Associate Degree Academy - Virtual 2

Business is everywhere. Leaders are made. Are you interested in a broad career that will develop your leadership skills? Earn your Business Management Associate's Degree through Chippewa Valley Technical College while earning your high school diploma. Participating in this academy you will have the opportunity to graduate with a high school diploma along with obtaining an Associate's Degree in Business Management from CVTC.  In this embedded four - year program, you will learn how to make effective business decisions, plan, organize, direct, and evaluate the functions of business that lead to outstanding companies. CVTC has several articulation agreements in place with partner universities for students to complete their bachelor's degree in as few as two years after high school graduation!

If a student does not earn AP credit or cannot take a course in the sequence, there are other options available to complete all required courses. 

*Summer commitment is required. Having access to a laptop is required.  Chromebooks are not an acceptable device.

Year 1 Courses

Summer Introduction to Business Management Academy (Non - credit)
Two - day orientation and program overview

102 - 130 Innovative Business Mindset (3 credits)
In this course, students will define the traits and mindset of entrepreneurs.  Students will use tools to determine their personal entrepreneurial traits.  Students will examine a variety of innovative companies (small, social, and global).  Students will understand the difference between entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs.  Students will evaluate existing business plans.

102 - 112 Principles of Management (3 credits)
Students learn about the four managerial functions of planning, organizing, controlling, and leading in contemporary organizations. A series of self - assessment questionnaires provide insights into personal behaviors and help students turn managerial theories into potential personal managerial practices. Students learn how management processes apply to a global environment.

116 - 193 Intro to Human Resources (3 credits)
In this course students will examine the role and goals the human resource management in today’s businesses. Students will learn and apply skills related to the various human resource functions, including equal employment opportunity, basic employment law concepts and diversity; job analysis, recruitment, and selection; compensation and benefits; performance management; and labor relations.

104 - 102 Marketing Principles (3 credits)
Marketing of products and services. Concentrates on product, price, place, promotion, market segmentation, target marketing, pricing, market research, physical distribution and distribution channels.
