Electrical Maintenance - Menomonie

CVTC and local high schools have partnered to offer students entering grades 9 - 12 an opportunity to explore a variety of ways electricity is used across the Chippewa Valley to move products we buy on Amazon and locally that depend on industrial electricity. Students will engage in hands on, interactive labs on equipment used by local employers such as Nestle, Walmart, Menards Distribution Center, Midwest Manufacturing, JD Manufacturing, Ashley Furniture, Gold N' Plump, and Bush Brothers. Faculty can connect students with local employers looking to hire skilled workers. Students will be introduced to industrial electricity utilizing both classroom and lab experiences, including electrical systems and controls. Students will also learn concepts of component selection, power transmission application, failure analysis, and predictive maintenance techniques in a hands on lab experience.

Students earn industry credentials and learn hands on about opportunities in automation. Students will have the ability to work with local employers and participate in youth apprenticeship programs at their high school.

This is the first course in our Electrical Maintenance technical diploma, preparing you for high demand jobs. The course has been scheduled to meet the needs of diverse student schedules. A combination of online and face to face open lab requires students in this class to commit to 10 hours each week. The open lab allows students the flexibility to determine the best dates and times each week to attend class Monday, Tuesday and Thursday between the hours of 8 am - 12 p.m.
